West Mtn, 1/7/03 (night ski)

Conditions were, unexpectedly, mediocre. Esp considering I've shoveled about 4 feet of the fresh from my driveway, which is about 45 min's south of West, in the last 2 weeks. <BR> <BR>This was a night ski outing. Another disappointment was that the main trail under the triple chair was...closed. What the f...?! They were making a lot of snow on that trial and groming it as well, but come on. <BR> <BR>What was open was generally good, but there was nothing that was really great. A lot of average cover was the rule and even patches of ice in the higher traffic areas. <BR> <BR>Of course for 12 bucks to ski from 5-10 who could really complain. During the day everything is open and should be much better than this nights sampling. And you really can't argue w/the commitment to blowing snow, should bode well for the weeks ahead.
