ok, well it's only blackomb still at this point, but the other one opens up on thursday.
checked out B on opening day (saturday), and along with the concensus, was very pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality of snow up there. easy crusing soft packed powder and light crowds made for a great season opener. limited terrain at this point, but there were plenty of hikers and some good turns to be had.
today was not as good. the snow has been packed solid and heavy fog and light precip made for tough navigating. there's no real snow in the forecast, so i'm not sure what to expect when W opens up on thursday, but i will surely be there to check it out.
the capper today was seeing three bears in the half pipe near the base. i was yelling at them to try something crazy, but i guess they were just beginners...
