Whistler in April?

I have managed to wangle a few days to W/B on my way back from a business trip. Trouble is, it's not until mid-April. Can anyone tell me whether the place is likely to be 100% open then, or will it just be a few runs? I particularly want to do Spanky's and all the other interesting stuff. My current dilemma is whether to book a room and lift tickets now, and get a good price, or hang back to make sure conditions will be OK so I don't waste my money. Any advice appreciated.

even in mid-April the high alpine stuff @ Blackcomb and Whistler is almost 100% open. iF temps have been warm with no snow it'll all be bumps....but it can dump that high up while the village is getting pissed on and a download on the bottom lifts may be required.

I agree with above comments. Best terrain in the alpine will all be open. You better check reservations soon, as Whistler is busy with World Ski and Snowboard Festival April 18-25.

Conditions are still great up here as it has been snowing consistently in the alpine for the last week and a half. I was out here a few years ago in mid april and had one of my best snow days ever. I think you'll do fine for alpine conditions, although the run down to the village my scrape some wax off your base.
