Dude, bail. Everything I have seen and read leads me to believe it's been marginal at best. I can't believe how bad it's been up that way.

it's been raining almost all the way up the mountain since yesterday afternoon, and it's supposed to continue pissing this week. if you have never skied a big mountain before, it's possible that you could be tricked into thinking that it's not all that bad, but the truth is it SUCKS LARGE!!!
i concur - bail and go to california. they are getting more snow every two weeks than we've had all season...i'm not joking - check the records for this year. we've only had 315cm CUMULATIVE!! our base is non existent.
if you are spending $1000 to come out here, don't waste your money. spend an extra few hundred and go somewhere worthwhile. you've been warned...

Tony, are you still going to Whistler on the 21st? We turn out to be going the week of March 20-27. (I'd thought "week 12" was a week later, but no.) Some BC friends of ours skied Whistler Mtn on Monday, and it sounded about as sad as it was late Jan / early Feb when we were there (and had a blast in very much the worst overall conditions we'd ever seen in Whistler). Monday was also one more unseasonably warm day, so they said they were skiing slush at the bottom of the Emerald and Red chairs.

Well, we're committed, got the week booked at Mountainside Lodge in the village. Expecting to have fun again, despite the meager base. If the weather's good from around the 18th to the 26th, we'll be fine. . .

Current plan is to do Extremely Canadian's clinic Mar. 21-22, then bug out to the Okanagan for a couple of days before heliskiing with TLH Mar. 26-27.

I talked to Extremely Canadian yesterday and they were still doing fine over the weekend. But I believe you need local knowledge of what's covered and what time of day is right to get much interesting skiing out of Whistler now.

I have a lot of experience with late spring conditions, so I'm not too worried about that part.
