Winter of Wonder: Utah 2007-08 Ski Season on Video

Back in September our entire ski posse (save for Amy, who was out of town) gathered at Auberge Guido with popcorn and beer for the world premiere on the big screen of "Winter of Wonder," a 49-minute DVD chronicling our entire 2007-08 ski season in Utah. Everyone was featured at some point throughout the season, as were our guests who filtered in and out of Utah.

Many of the scenes have been published separately on FTO, and some of them haven't. A soundtrack was added to the videos shot before mid-January that didn't previously have one. I wasn't smart enough to save them as I went throughout the year without titles, credits, etc. ](*,) It turned out to be a chronological collection of short videos. I've learned my lesson, and this season I'm doing just that to create a more continuous feature film at the end of this season that won't feel like a collection of short videos.

One of my projects this afternoon was to create a web version to share online at FTO. So, without further adieu...

Interesting, watched a couple sections of it this morning in the thread, but now also get just a white box (Firefox 3).

I see what you mean on the collection of 'shorts'. You can always go for the Warren Miller style of short segments. My whopping two video's so far showed that one can spend a fair amount of time to go that next step and essentially create from scratch for the season long vid.

What program are you using for production? I was playing with the free version of Pinnacle with mine. Just not happy with the free MS movie maker (Seems OK, but not quite enough control). Depending on the program it might be reasonably easy to just eliminate the ending/intro credits sections and put one long credits section at the end or something like that.

Not sure why given the over-the-top cost, but I picked up a POV1 that I hope to use a fair bit this year.

Interesting, indeed! For some reason it reverted back to an old abandoned BBCode. I know that I used the SkiTube2 BBCode last night.

Oh, well, I just edited the first post to fix it.
