    Babies/Toddlers on Destination Ski Trips

We’ll see, Nikki and I just had a baby, so it may be a while before we take a destination ski trip, particularly one overseas.

    Snowbird 3/3/14

Snowbird was super solid today. Chalky up in the bowls on the gad side. Went over to mineral basin and got super lucky as they had just opened some terrain in the far skiers right: The lift line there was the longest of the day, about 3 minutes. We got unlucky on the gad 2 lift as they had a...

    SLC this weekend

So, I'm heading out thursday with my father to SLC. I have a few questions: 1. Does PC still do that thing where if you sign up on the chamber of commerce you get a free lift ticket the day you arrive? 2. We aren't renting a a 4 wheel drive car, but staying at the holiday inn express in...

    Pot vs. Utah

I've noticed recently in NYC that there have been a bunch of Utah ski tourism commercials. I know it's a bit early yet, but I wonder what type of effect Colorado's Marijuana laws will have on Utah's ski tourism. As a person who prefers Utah as a ski destination it doesn't bother me much either...

    Utah 2014

I know I haven't been much of a participant on the forum recently. Between work and work, it's hard to find time right now. Furthermore, the path that I have followed the past few years really hasn't allowed me to ski. I'm going skiing this year. If but a few days... and if I'm only going to...

    Rfarren Band Tour #2

It's a two piece rock band with a focus on analog vintage gear. It's picked up a bit of steam in the past 6 months or so, but still has a long way to go... Remember that all of those cities will be visited for just one night. Tours are hard and off days tend not to be days of leisure, but days...

    Site Issue?

I use a Mac, and I was wondering if anyone else uses Safari, which is my go to browser. The forum no longer is working well when I use Safari, but is fine with Firefox. Has anybody else experienced this?

    Early Nor' easter

It snowed quite a bit in NYC today. May this be the only time I ever say this on this forum, but this sucks! I'm most definitely not in the mood for snow in NYC right now.

    Smallest hill you've ever skied....

I just came across this article on FTO :http://www.firsttracksonline.com/2011/07/10/paoli-peaks-ski-lawsuit-trees/. It's about Paoli Peaks. That place is the smallest, or at least the funniest place I've ever skied. I used to go there when I was in College. It got me wondering, what is the most...

    EC Closing Dates 2011

I see that Hunter is planning on closing this Sunday. The Bell is planning on staying open until at least this Sunday. I understand this is a business, but there is a ton of snow left on the ground. If the weather stays relatively cold, which it's supposed to, I may just hike it if it closes...

    Snowmass 3.27

Skied snowmass. Did the hanging wall, cirque and all that. Plenty of snow. I think Aspen highlands is a far better mountain as well as Ajax. The bottom two thirds of Snowmass should be called flatmass. I like the Aspen mountains as they have a lot fewer people than Summit County and Vail, and...

    Aspen 3.26

Skied highlands and Aspen today. Started with Highlands and hiked to the top of the bowl. Went down the front face and it was wonderful! Aspen mountain was where we went in the afternoon as our legs were pretty beat up. It too was wonderful. I think the terrain in this part of Colorado is better...

    Beaver Creek 3.25

We just did BC only. Steep and very deep. Plenty of face shots but the hikes were both about 1 and 1 1/2 hours each. No pictures today as it's a local's spot and the Internet is too open.

    Vail 3.20-22

Visiting my friend out here. First two days beautiful corned up wonderfulness. Today we woke up to 8 inches +. Skied 28,000 vert with the vast majority of it untracked. Lots of wind but few people. Pretty tired, and don't love typing on my iPhone. Here are few photos from the last few days.

Whiteface is reporting 18-24" over night and is calling for another 7+ today. Methinks we will be skiing on the left coast deep into April.

    Jiminy and Berkshire Backcountry 2/20-2/21

After this weeks thaw I expecting some pretty bad snow up north. Because I figured the snow would be equally bad about everywhere I decided to spend the weekend at my Uncles house in East Chatham NY. Nikki and I were sleep deprived so we slept in Saturday morning than rushing up to Hunter. The...

    Midwinter thaw

The EC midwinter thaw is upon us. It looks to be warm up in the mountains this week. Weather in the mid 40s. Luckily I haven't seen rain forecasted. The skiing should be nice this week through friday with the warmer temps. Saturday will be a $hit show when the temps drop back down to seasonal...

    Gore and Hickory 2.5-2.6.11

I went up this past weekend to the southern Daks. I woke up at 5:00 in the morning and got on the road by 5:15 Saturday morning. I drove all the way to warrensburg arriving at Hickory Ski Center at 8:45. Hickory is closed on weekdays. That made it perfect to hit this Saturday, as it snowed 16...
