That's a big change. It's been first weekend of December the last few years. But the L.A. Auto Show is claiming the early December dates this year.apparently the Skidazzle in LA is Halloween weekend.

Usually not me, as my median opening day is Dec. 16. According to my records over the past 20 years a SoCal resort has been "worth skiing," meaning at least half open with some single black runs 10% of the time in November, 20% first weekend in December, 35% second weekend of December, with finally a sharp rise to 65% third weekend of December. http://webpages.charter.net/tcrocker818/scalhist.htm.By that time resorts have been open for a week or two at most, so most people are out riding.

Nonetheless I would agree that the decade-ago timing of SkiDazzle the weekend before Thanksgiving was better.
