Advice on ski trip to Park City in Feb. 2008

A thought on whether to rent a car: It's been several years -- what, nine? Egad! I must get back -- but when I skied a week in Park City, the coach (bus) company that brought us in from the SLC airport also offered a deal to Little Cottonwood Canyon on the bus. If I remember correctly, it appeared to be basically get a lift ticket for the price of their bus ride, or maybe that and a bit more. I didn't take them up on it -- only one other person in my group was interested, and then his wife talked him out of it. I have no idea if the bus company or another one is still offering this plan, and a rental car might be more practical and economical given your circumstances and desires, but I point this out as an option to explore if you only want to sample what's outside of Park City.

In any case, it sounds like a great family trip. Enjoy!

Thanks, World'sWorsttelemarker, for the advice. I'll check out the bus situation prior to our trip. I have the feeling we'll end up renting a vehicle for the week. When you consider the total cost of a ski vacation today - lodging, lift tickets, meals, misc. expenses, etc. - the price of a rental vehicle is almost incidental. I think I'm going to rent a condo at the Caledonia condo complex in Park City. I'm told they're very nice condos (pricey, but what isn't in Park City and Deer Valley) with a good location - convenient to the Town Lift and Main Street. Does anyone know anything about these condos?? Thanks.
