Alta, UT 10/27/10

skinned to the summit of hidden peak yesterday and skinned with skidog this morning up collins gulch with 300 people on their way up to assault what was left as we were decending . skied down primrose from the summit then took chips to the base - snowbird had everything that i could see catted that they usually groom - same with alta just aton more skier traffic in collins gulch . main street and mombo looked like they had lift serviced traffic abusing them . everything looked like they were open for bus. the mid and upper cirques were hammered (eliteist pigs riding the tram) knowing most of their clientele are far to lazy to skin the required vert . to access the goods . alta is basically hammmered as far as the eye can see....

My guess is that with the high walls protecting Main Chute, very little snow gets blown out of it. Nearly all the snow blown in probably stays there.

I'm all for shameless self promotion! Just identify it as such. That post just looked like so much of the spam postings we've been seeing in all discussion fora, which is getting kinda tiresome.

We've taken steps recently to cut down on that problem:

Unfortunately, we were looking in the wrong place to find posts awaiting approval, so three posts -- including the one referenced here -- were held up for a couple of days. Apologies to those affected. I saw this, hesitated for a moment, but considering its relevancy and the fact that it was likely Grete herself, I approved the post.
