We were all skiing Powder Mountains Powder Safari. It was ten days after that early December powder cycle we we had been in. Pow Mow decided to bring us out to La Plata Ranch, terrain that was brand new to their tour and never skied before. Patrol had been out a day earlier and snow conditions were spectacular. The morning we came up temps got a bit warm, with some wind and then real cold. Therefore the snow had a crazy layer just below the surface. The snow looked like it would be amazing and in spots it was, but just when you thought you could open it up you'd hit this crust, layer, patch whatever you want to call it and it was like you had two floorboards attached to your skis. Even with all that we managed to have an outstanding day up there. Love their terrain for cat skiing!
