BC Snowcat (& Heli) Skiing 24/25

I think Valhalla is more advanced.
Yes it is. However it's still a day operator which means they have seen first timers before and with logistics and transceiver drills you're not skiing more than about 10K as a daytripper. I mentioned it and K3 in the context of snow reliability.

No.

I confirmed with Mustang today that my ski days will rollback to February 21-23 in 2026 (pickup 30 miles W of Revelstoke at 3 pm on February 20). That makes it possible for me to be with my wife on Valentine's Day which I could not do in 2023 when ski dates were February 18-20 and I skied two days at Bachelor and Schweitzer and one at Red Mountain and Revelstoke before Mustang. Someone who recently moved to Sandpoint committed to using Adam's days in 2026 and friend who lives in Bend may also be interested in taking spot @flyover sounds like he will be giving up. Anyone else wants John's days?

Another great deal from Chatter Creek. Cancellations for about $1k USD/day - cat skiing, lodging, meals. I put my name in the mix.

However, Chatter Creek seems to be having a poor snow year - below normal - but good surface conditions:

I'm a bit confused. How are you calling 2cm in the last 7 days good surface conditions?

Ouch! I did not look at that. There are two snow report pages - one omitting 7-day snowfall. 0" for 7 days is NOT good - with below-average bases. I thought the cold temps could dry out the snow since they said excellent surface conditions - but I am doubtful.

It was no problem for me - others scooped up the seats.

Funny - I just got an email from Mustang, and they are only discounting 200 CAD per day off a last-minute package.

I am not sure how they set cancellation resales prices at any operation, but I am sure they know what works.

I still get Mustang’s emails. Discounts are trivial until about the day before the tour starts.

Chatter Creek has to be well below average on snowfall this season. They have some higher altitude terrain that might preserve better than at other cat operations. However they also have a continental climate more prone to wind effect and snow instability.
