It’s pretty hard for my family to have more fun than we did today. We got to ski some fresh light snow early and the hill provided soft turns all day.
Aside from a 5 minute wait to get through the initial line at 9am on Dreamcatcher we either skied on or waited less than a minute each lift thereafter. Visibility was challenging at times and in parts but the abundance of trees made it ok for even us who are relatively inexperienced at skiing in cloud or fog or whatever it is.
As Chris said the mountain is pretty perfect for us. First run we went to the zone he identified for us at lookers right of Dreamcatcher. The kids were whooping it up in the powder while Kylie was a bit more carefulbut she wasn’t intimidated at all.
There were less people on the Colter side and it was easy to ski without seeing skiers outside our group.
Not much more to say but a few pics below.
The last shitty pic is to show how bad the visibility got this afternoon.
On a side note the nice boot fitter lady at the ski shop fixed my issue up in a jiffy for $12. I’ve been having a bit of pain on my left big toe in my relatively new boots. I enquired how long it would take to heat and modify that area. I thought I may be able to leave them overnight. She said she could probably fix them in about 20 seconds and told me to take the boot off. She added the smallest wedge under the area where my heel is and when I put the boot back on it was night and day better. She did the same to the other boot for correct balance. So happy with the result.
