Is FTO the oldest ski forum?

I’ve written numerous times in newsgroup when I have a grad student late 80s/early 90s. After had this discussion at least decade ago, I know Admin were on the rec.skiing newsgroups.

It’s written that the Vermont Listserv started in 1988. You can easily find posts back to 1993,

I believe Admin started the FTO forums around 1993.

The TGR forum expanded greatly after Powder mag deleted (with no or little warning) their own forum. Somewhat similar to the end of Epic Forum.

Snowjournal and Time for Tuckerman have also been around for a long time.

@Sbooker mentions that the Australian ski forum is 30 years old; however, the earliest post I could find was June 2003. Maybe an older interface was scrapped and previous forum threads didn't make the transition?
The Aussie ski forum was initially mostly to host webcams back when the Australian resorts didn't have them. What I remember reading is that it started in 1995. Went through software changes for sure. Moved to Xenforo 1.x relatively early compared to other ski forums that I'm aware of. What makes it different from many older forums is that the original admin and co-creator is still in charge. Richard and Ian don't post that much but they are still actively involved.

Richard has the knowledge to do the tech work himself. The amount of care and effort Richard took to upgrade from Xenforo 1.x to Xenforo 2.0 was impressive. The process took a couple years.

Love this message board.
Shoulda joined years ago. Oh well. Well but I came close when I joined Peter Keelty's forum.
So is FTO the oldest ski forum now?
It's one of the oldest ski forums still in operation today. It was founded in 1994 by Marc Guido, who initially started by posting ski trip reports on an electronic mailing list before transitioning to a full-fledged website.
