wow, how about that 2 feet of snow,NOT. it is too bad that we only got about 6 inches overnight friday which is locked under neath a thick crust layer, which makes for some tricky skiing. very easy to get stuck under the crust . a couple of inches saturday night for this morning and it is currently snowing lightly.

the weather is calling for more snow, but it is going to take good bit to cover up the crust .

the temps have also been all over the place warm cold warm cold , with some rain in there the snow is wet and the crust is hard. what ever that is supposed to mean. anyway, it needs to snow and hopefully in a few days things will be looking better with more on and off stuff for the coming week. it does not look like anything significant is going to come at once, which would be the best case scenario, but a little here a little there can't hurt, so bring on the freshies.

jay is currently not worth the trip up here. wait for some new snow. the only skiable terrain are the groomers, woods are out the question, very dangerous.

bring on the fresh!!!!!!!!!1

red eyes

Was up there on Sunday for the Tele-festival. Good times as usual, demoing skis and picking up pointers from some phenomenal free-heelers.

Also, good to finally hook up with our host, Marc. The man pointed me in many good directions back in the internet days of the mid-nineties and it only took ten years to put a face to the words! Hopefully more turns can be shared when Jay is in better shape.

Not that things were horrible. While I do agree that the crust was brutal in some places (Canyonland comes to mind), places like Timbuktu and Beaver Pond held some good turns later in the day. I guess the key was to ignore instinct and stay away from anything untouched. Some of the steeper pitches were in fine shape as well - Powerline and Jet come to mind.

Definitely not as good as one could have hoped, but still a fun day on the slopes.
