Mt. Washington, NH - Above average snowfall?

I don't have a praticular mountain in mind more of a region, I think that meteorlogically speaking the belt between northern VT and northern NH is probably the best area for snow.

Secondly, there are many people that could get to that area for skiing and tree removal.

Thirdly, we dont need to by a whole mountain we only need to buy the part of the mountain that we want to ski on.

Fourth, if we dont open it to the public and we keep it private there will be fewer regulations as to what can be cut and fewer environment issuse if it were to be kept quiet.

Any suggestions as to a mountain in the belt between, burke, cannon, jay, and orford? Prefferably far enough north that it is cold enough early and late to get snow, and high enough that it gets snow through out dec., jan, feb. and march

Porter

Cannon and Tuckerbrook trail. I always wanted to ski it (okay, not always, but since I have known about it). The problem I had with my visits to Cannon was that we only had one car driving from Montreal (team up with a buddy in MTL).

Big Jay is another two car place to go. I have the buddy, but time is another matter (especially now living in Ottawa and having my 6yrs old daughter skiing 9 Saturdays in a row).

I had 3.5" on my deck ( at 1400' elev.) Thursday morning at 7AM, and it had accumulated 5" by the time I got home at 7PM.

The Mount Washington Observatory reports 8.8" in the 24 hrs ending 2AM:

Average Monthly Snowfall: 13.8"
Total Snowfall So Far This Month: 25"

The maximum ever received in October was 39.8" in 2000.

I'm sure some locals made some turns somewhere on Cannon yesterday, or will today. I've got to go to work, though.

Patrick, River, and all: Email me if you're coming to Cannon and want to ski Tuckerbrook - I'm always looking for someone to help spot a car there!
