New NE Skiing/Boarding Forums

Some of us North East skiers and boarders are starting a NE specific website with forums. We're just getting started, but people are signing up daily. The website should also evolve over the summer. So come check it out at
http://www.skifreakz.com

You know, I'm going to leave this thread here out of the goodness of my heart, but blatantly using our boards solely to obtain free advertising for another snowsports-related website is really rather uncool. If the first post in this thread contributed to a discussion here in some other meaningful way, it's somehow lost on me. I trust that others will use a bit more restraint. There are less heavy-handed methods that may be employed to accomplish the same obj ective.

skifreak, you're an idiot.

THIS is THE forum (except maybe for those zoneski Franko-phones, LOL).

Since I've never seen you post here, you're either a worthless lurker, or simply clueless.

But if your new site lures away the gapers like you, it may actually increase the value-per-thread on this forum. So good luck, and kindest regards

FTO is one of the most useful tools i've found on the internet.
Other forums seem to be filled with immature posters who's only purpose is to instigate fights within the forum.FTO has some of the most passionate, well informed and seasoned skiers/riders as it's regular posters.
I post on a couple of other forums but I consider FTO #1.
And I must agree that plugging your new site w/o posting here regularly is rather tacky. But good luck anyway.
((*
*))NHPH

Ditto for what NHPH said.

I only started being active on the forum last Spring, but I have been consulting FTO (Discussion, Ski News, Links, etc.)for a number of years.

Sorry. I guess I wasn't aware of forum ediquette. I thought it was possible for people to be a member of more than one forum, especially since skifreakz.com is supposed to be about eastern riders and skiers, not an all serving site like FTO.

Feel free to delete this thread. Sorry to those I offended.

actually Spellcheck it's "étiquette" with the little thingy on the "e"

just kidding

"de m'enseigner LE français", en passant

je gage 2$ que Spell Check = Patrick

None of both ? You're surprising me !

Spell Check looks like a "french member" as bordel is way less used in Quebec's french. Is it Christophe that wrote here ?

Sorry, it's "tabernacle" for the real world spell and "Tabarnack" for the common used word

Don't you worry, Spell check, we're just teasing you as we all wonder who you are !

(please don't correct my english errors !!!) hehe

You know, these forums have this handy-dandy little editable list of banned words, which as some of you have seen replace the offending word with a series of red dots. I tried to keep the list to a minimum, but being a family board and all I had to implement it. Never, however, did I figure that I needed to add to the list words from any language other than English. Tabarnacle!

Frank:

I'm the American bloke who invades the ZoneSki chatboard from time to time.

I'll collect my $2 next winter, when you show me all your secret stashes at La Reserve.

Oops, there is 2 US invaders on zoneski, James and Bagr ! But as you're talking of La Réserve, my guess is on James ;)

2$ is for Alta... (it would be cool if La Réserve could do the same sometimes... hehe.)

Marc, for the red dots, I love them so much that I put them voluntarily

PS : when I moved the ex-house of my girlfriend last weekend, we found 13$ in "Canadian Tire" money (a store in Canada that give you by example 1$ of future rebate (looking like a real dollar) if you buy 100$ of stock (or so).

As Canadian Tire money is accepted at par at Mont Alta (unique in the world), this would mean she could ski the 5 days of the Valentine's day week next year without give other money !

5 ski days paid with Canadian tire money ! wow !
