Powder Mountain, UT 2/19/09

Thank you! Ironically, unbeknown to me it was submitted as an entry in Pow Mow's video contest, and it won. We're thus heading back up there this morning.

I would love to do Pow Mow today, but I have a feeling it'll be dust on crust. That's a long way to drive for so-so conditions. So we'll do Solitude instead.

Snowbird wasn't so great yesterday down low. There were a few soft spots of snow as the day got warmer, but it wasn't as good as when I was here last time during that storm.

I suspect tomorrow will be quite an improvement after today's warm temps and even warmer tomorrow. It won't be powder, but hopefully the crusts will be beaten into submission, especially on the more heavily skied lines.

Pow Mow today had some horrendous lines, and some amazingly good lines. Will post when I'm actually awake.

Yeah we actually found UNTRACKED POWDER...probably around boot deep, on a VERY supportable crust...absolutely dreamy. Had to take the cat to get it but well worth $12. Who'd have thought after all the warm weather and the lower elevation that Pow Mow has that we'd find anything but the aforementioned "dust on crust"

Like admin said there were some "scary" runs, but man that untracked made up for all of it.

Hope the videos up soon ;)

I would've hoped so, too, as we shot some great footage. However, as I was filming I was getting an error message on the screen to clean the tape heads. I came home and did so, and the camera works fine now, but yesterday's footage is in the scrap heap.
