Powder vs Spring skiing

Edit. Yikes. It appears a day ticket to PM is $157!
Maybe if you buy it now. On short notice it's $229. And no it's not reliable enough to be buying now for Christmas Week.
Also an overlooked value of larger vert, and it doesn't have to be continuous. Start and the bottom and work your way up.

On some days, only bottom will soften.
Our first spring trip to Mammoth this season was Exhibit A. The top ungroomed runs never softened and the two groomers off the top not until after 1PM.

Sundance is pretty cheap, wanna say under $100 for a weekday?
The cheap price under $100 is for seniors 65+ only. Still a good deal for adults for a powder day given the lack of lift lines. I had a very good time the day I checked out Sundance for the first time in late Feb 2024. Would be happy to go back if staying in Sandy/Midvale instead of dealing with powder hounds heading up the LCC road. The short stretch of 2-lane mountain road up to Sundance is nearly as hard to deal with as the LCC, BCC, or Powder Mountain access roads.

I will be skiing Alta the few days before Christmas. We’ll go to Grand Targhee/Jackson the week between Christmas and New Year. Then back to Snowbird, Snowbasin and Park City after New Year.
