Should I Quit My Job and Move to Utah?

Its a tough decision..one that I'm not going to make now as things are pretty good overall.. Just not sure about the future..these things are not cut and dry like some think.
Expressing opinions/desires is not whining..as some think...its why I usualy keep my thoughts to myself...and why I don't slam people for their thoughts, opinions and or desires.....

Actually, in nearly 4 decades of rock climbing and skiing, after seeing dozens of climber and skier relationships fall apart, it's more cut and dried than you think. 9 times out of 10 it was because one person was far more into the sport than the other - and if they tried to compromise, they were eventually miserable. BTW, not only wasn't it always the male compromising their activity, but a lot more women than stereotype suggests were the ones to call it off.

You started this off by commenting about the OP vid: "This stuff makes me want to quit my job....and move............"
A bunch of us said - all it takes is a decision to do so. Then the excuses started. And this isn't the first time you've said this (it's easier to count the number of times you haven't) - that's whining, dude.

Whether it's "whining" or not is semantics, but after a while, people may start to view the expression of the same desire over and over (without doing anything concrete to make it happen) as a kind of sad performance art: a shtick.

thank you ---rfarren --- real world priorties are there but come the colder season winter isn't something i fight but have learned to embrace. my salaries are far short of six figures to so we learn to optimize our income. having no children makes a huge difference (not alot of politics) .

I was just breeezing threw the form which I do every 3-4 days and thought I would chime in. As a resident of South Florida I feel some of your pain. We all make choices in life that we must at the time think are best. Family and work/$ are challanges for almost all of us and for many our #1 priorty (myslef included). I had my first (probably last) son 16 months ago, and guess what, last year was the first year I havnt skied in at least 20 yrs. I've battled a reptured appendix, a few sinus infections, and denuge fever all since his birth, at this point I am happy to be alive and am finaly getting back into ski/tri shape.
Now that being said I watched the Alta Video a few weeks ago after that big dump you guys had, and you know what first came to mind? I can't wait to ski there with my Boy! My wife and I spent 12 years in Fort Collins and moved away 5 years ago, know we are working on a plan to split time between here (jupiter FL) and either back in our house(rented out) in Fort Collins or Park City where my folks live. Here is what will blow some minds, we would live out west in the summer and here in the winter. If timed right I could catch some late season at snowbird or A basin. We would also make a few trips out there to visit my parents in the winter as well. AS my son gets to school age we more then likly would move out west full time.
This may seem blastfomous to my Colorado Brethern but I am still tired of some of the people Colorado attracts, after spending 4 months there again this spring/summer. Park City also may be a better fit for my business/lifestyle. Good luck all
