Any of you guys have/heard of this game?I have it and it's pretty neat.The premis of the game is to take a virgin mountain and develop it into a K-Mart style mountain.You cut ski runs,name them,decide ability level,provide different types of food and entertainment,lodging,cater to guest comfort,manage money,there are avalanches,lift breakdowns,bathroom shortages,snow droughts,snowmaking,grooming,skiers dying,and moguls.I could go on.It's by Activision,it's for the PC and I think I paid like $15 for it at Staples.Well worth it.If you diehards see it then get it for the off season. <BR>((* <BR>*))NHPH
 
I also saw it at Staples (oops - Bureau en gros) in Brossard last month (What the heck was I doing in Brossard when I lived in Ottawa!!!). Unfortunately, it isn't compatible with my machine.

Definetly worth checking out for ski fans. You can build your own mountains.
 
I actually have an illegal copy (oops) on my machine that I downloaded a while ago, then promptly forgot about... I might check it out again, and even buy a legit copy if I like it. <BR> <BR>Does it have to a be a resort, or just a ski mountain (think Mad River or Cannon vs. K-Mart)
 
The game kind of forces you to build the ASC style resort.You need skier visits and they wont come unless you build things such as a disco or bowling alley or Bigfoot Preservetion Society.But you cant build those until you have made some lesser buildings such as a maitenance shack or grocery store or discount rental shop.You also need to manage how much each of these services charge or your guests will leave or be out of money.If you dont have enough ski patrol then guests will die and the family of the dead skier will sue you!It's a pretty hip game!Addicting. <BR>((* <BR>*))NHPH
 
I guess once you make a ton of money you could just destroy all the riff-raff and just leave the trails and lifts. <BR>((* <BR>*))NHPH
 
unfortunately, this game forces you to build a certain type of resort. there are ways around it. you can use a cheat code for unlimited cash and disable the "upgrade structure tree" - but that takes the challenge and fun outta it. <BR> <BR>also, the terrain is west coast style mountains (or maybe euro style mountains, i dunno). the way the mountains are formed are nothing like eastern ski areas. even with the map editor i couldn't fashion a mountain to look or feel "eastern." <BR> <BR>so with it's narrow definition of "success" and limitations of types of areas you can build and some other short comings (you can't build snow guns, snow systems, custom race courses or parks, etc)... i found it to get boring rather quickly. but it helped fight the jones for a week or so during the warm months!!!
