Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 5:37 AM MDT on October 08, 2008

An unseasonably cold storm system is targeted for Utah this
weekend. Although this storm system will filter in across the
region during the next few days the brunt of the system will
affect the state Saturday into Sunday. Snow levels are expected to
come down to the valley floors for all of Utah except Dixie and
Lake Powell regions by Saturday night. Although snow amounts in
general may not be significant... even minor amounts could cause
havoc when you consider that most trees have not lost their
foliage. In addition... maximum temperatures on Saturday and
Sunday will be about 25 degrees below normal.

It even looks like some of last weeked's snow will still be on the ground as this next storm sweeps in:

Change that now to a Winter Storm Warning. Flakes have already been seen at my house this morning. The storm, however, isn't supposed to hit us until primarily this afternoon/tonight.

Snow has already started falling at the base of Alta:

about 2 inches and park city and still snowing!

Hey, hey! You're still alive! Did you go back East this summer, or are you staying on in PC now full-time?

Full time now. I manage Yuki Arashi Sushi on Main Street in Park City so couldn't really head home. Nor did I want to. Fell in love with MTN biking...

Damn, the storm busted. :-s I'm staying home today. With 4 or 5 inches at my house at 5,000 feet it looks like I got as much if not more than AltaBird.

Up in Park City we saw about 1.5 inches yesterday and about 2 inches this morning. Sun came out about 11 am and melted everthing. Major bust! :-({|=

Must have focused more on the north. We got about 6 inches in Ogden, and on Snowbasin's top camera, it looks like there's about 18 inches or so.

did you know that native americans called park city, "hole in the sky"? it's true. they called it that because of how much less moisture fell from the sky than locations to the north and south. i'm sure those same people would've called lincoln nh the same thing.

And no doubt those Cottonwood locations just over the ridge to the west.
