Beer thread?

I recently had a chance to visit the Budweiser Brewery in St. Louis. It’s THE BEER museum (shrine?) of the United States—really worthwhile to see the history, production, and campus of an Iconic American Brand. No matter how you feel about its beer :) :(

The Gateway Arch National Park is highly worthwhile too!

My Budweiser tour propaganda: hat and pint glass.

Unlike sbooker I immediately stuck my pint glass in the dishwasher.

About time this thread was revived.
A New South Wales stout. Good but not great. The glass is self explanatory. A nice souvenir. Good memories of two trips to Jackson.

Don't often drink beer anymore (used to be very into microbrews); but recently had a Callicoon No Bull IPA which was both good and better than expected given the remote locale.

No cans of it, only on tap, but if you are ever in extreme remote parts northwest of NYC... Callicoon Brewing

Not beer but it goes great with it. My mother in law is originally from Fiji and she’s a super fantastic cook. This is her chilli relish. I put either hommus or cottage cheese over it and the cracker.

Fiji has a lot of Indian influence due to immigration to Fiji from India that started in the 50s. We eat plenty of curries. Both Indian and Thai/Malay.

I bought a 12-pack on Firestone Walker 805 California Blonde Ale. At 4.7%, I'm enjoying it as I have another lower alcohol IPA this summer.
Much better than Coors Light. Glass is from Guatemala.

805 is named for the area code where it's made in Paso Robles, an area with 200+ wineries, about 30 miles N of San Luis Obispo, recently listed as one of the top 10 towns in USA, where my son went to CalPoly.

I bought it at Tahoe Safeway for $12.88 + tax + CRV=about $15, but I got a $5 rebate so under $1/can.

I wish I could double like this post.
I remember stopping in at San Luis Obispo when we drove the coast road from LA to SF the first time we went to the States.
Love the glass.

Extremely reasonable for a microbrewery 12-pack. Almost unheard of.
Our liquor is so heavily taxed it is unimaginable to get a 12 pack of craft beer for under $45aud.
Our beer usually comes in approx 12oz cans and in packages of either 4 or 6 or 16 or 24 or 30. The six pack is usually about $25aud.

Happy http://internationalbeerday.com/ Not sure how much more I will celebrate as we're going to nearby music event where (visible?) alcohol is not allowed. Wanted to add this but I had to put my last one in the freezer for 40 minutes before opening it as it was not cold. Crisp, but tasty for 4%/3 carbs/96 calorie/30 IBU. I first tried it when I bought a mixed Lagunitas 12-pack that had two stronger, more flavorful IPAs to get a Safeway rebate (only if I have first clipped it on the app and use my wife's phone no. at checkout), but WTF it was not listed as one of the 12-packs that qualified. So I had my wife buy a 12-pack of it when we were on way to Sierra on 7/3 in 105 degree heat. It has been good on hot days and how can you resist a beer named Day Time? I have a soft spot for Stella Artois (the glass) as I attended Queen's Court tournament, a grass court warmup to Wimbledon, when I lived and worked in England in very early 1980s and they were a sponsor.

Good deal! I never heard of Firestone Walker Brewery until a couple weeks ago I saw a six pack of this stout in my local grocery store in Virginia. Kind of amazing how these microbrews can get distributed all around the country.

This particular store has a huge beer/wine selection. The six pack was $7-something in the clearance aisle, probably left over from last winter. So I bought it. It's good, 6.0 ABV, and nitrogenated for a creamy texture. I like stouts, even sometimes in summer. ...says the guy who drank a Becks the other day with a bunch of ice in it:)

Happy Friday.
This beer is from just up the road at Yeerongpilly.
The glass is a brewery from the Gold Coast. Burleigh Heads specifically.
This being Burleigh -

Flashback Friday: to early Feb, 2024, taking a hydration break outside Mid-Gad restaurant at Snowbird, UT. If you look closely there are some cans of Yuengling Lager amongst my gang of ski geezers. This is a decent, inexpensive east coast US beer. Some years I will throw a case in my car when I drive to UT. In Utah it is considered an exotic delicacy :p

Average age at this table is about 65. We elders have to look out for each other. BTW, Mid-Gad Restaurant is kaput. Currently being demolished and replacement facility will be two years in the making.

There was very good thirst-inducing skiing that day (4 Feb 2024):

You win as far as locations are concerned Jim.
While we’re talking Snowbird are there any warming huts or outdoor tables at Snowbird or Alta that one can eat a packed lunch at?
