Stay on the mountain? Which one? And a better question is why? Stay in the Salt Lake Valley to give yourself flexibility and save a boatload of coin to boot. You can get efficiency units near the Cottonwoods for ~$50/unit/night, even less by the week. One of the beauties of coming here is having four ski resorts within 15-20 minutes of the Salt Lake Valley and expand that to seven within 35 minutes. You lose that flexibility by staying up canyon where it will cost you several hundred per night.

I think I have to agree here with the wizard...aka Admin. Missed skiing with you this time, Marc....although I did make some turns with Peter and Kingslug one morning.

I just got back last week and although, had less than optimal conditions for LCC, I still had a blast...but for the first time, I stayed down in the valley and I have to say, it was great. I stayed in one of the efficiency units Admin speaks of and to be honest, the room was pretty much exactly like the room I've been staying in up in the canyon for the last 8 years. Oh, the efficiency unit cost me as much for the week as one night would up in the canyon. Granted food is included, but....um...no offense....I'm a New Yorker...I'm not going to Utah for the food...and I actually enjoyed eating out down in the valley or taking it easy in my room. I also have some local first hand beta on cheap car rentals. PM me if anyone needs info on that! \/

We ended up staying one night in Sandy on the cheap, and one night at the Peruvian. And the food at the Peruvian was superb.
