I will be in tahoe this winter, and i could use some suggestions on a season pass. i have been considering the kirkwood 6wood and the alpine mid-week for very good value. i could live near south tahoe or north tahoe.the heavenly peak pass is also tempting just in case i could spend a month in...

    alta/bird 675 vs. 550?

Thank you for your quick informative reply. I frequent the Snotel site and there is a Snowbird station. I wasnt implying that Alta over-reported. I was just surprised at a whooping 10 foot difference. Actually I think both of them under-report. In Cali, a reported foot is really 5 inches. In...

where are those really good multiyear graphs on Snotel?

For the last few years it was easy to find graphs on Snotel (I am interested in the Snowbird station) where you could pick any combination of years back to 1990 and see the overlay graphs for snowfall , snowpack, water content etc. Does anyone know if these graphs are still there? I cant find...

Hi. Personally I think those are some of the worst days of the year to ski. Try to come when it is not a holiday.

    Tahoe Snowfall & Kirkwood lies

kirkwood does stretch it, but on this occasion it has more to do with the reporting period chosen. yesterday they reported a storm total of 62 at the high end of the range for 48 hrs.

Hurray!!! Snow in the Forecast for Utah!!!

even during the last 2 excellent years in lcc, the weather report FOR THE NEXT DAY was frequently wrong. and looking more than a few days ahead was a waste of time. that being sais, the avalanch report found right here has been the most accurate for me
